Lugo 1 Real Murcia 0

We lost....but held on to win the play off 2 - 1.

I felt we controlled the first half and looked comfortable, indeed were doing the same and had Lugo looking desperate, frustrated and ineffective....right up until they scored their goal. Then they really pressed, but we defended stoutly....but the clock seemed to be going backwards....and then keeper Alberto had one of his moments...the ball escaping his grasp (just like last season in Gerona) and the ball ended up in the back of the net...oh shit oh shit oh shit.....but the referee deemed that he had been fouled. Honestly...maybe a bit dubious and could have gone the other way, but we are owed so much but the referees over the last 3 or 4 seasons, so who cares if we got a soft one to get us out of trouble.

The minutes passed slowly, 5 were added......when the ref finally blew for time....we all went bonkers!

  1. A fantastic antidote to Girona. Lets hope that Iñaki Alonso stays and we have some long term stability. We also need to reinforce the team, especially the ageing midfield. But for now ENJOY and look forward to the derbies with Cartagena, Hercules, Almeria and 1 or 2 from Elche/Granada depending on the 2a play-offs, maybe even Alcoy from the 2b play-offs.

  2. I have never been so nervous watching a game & that includes watching Pompey in 2 cup finals.A very well deserved promotion, they say cream rises to the top, it has been a fantastic season not quite over yet as I hope we go up as ultimate champions. The fans were superb on sunday & watching the scenes afterwards will long stay in the memory. Congratulations to the one & only Real Murcia.
